An atmospheric fishing game

Boasting gorgeous, life-like graphics, Call of the Wild: The Angler™ is a premium fishing simulator wherein you play as a rookie angler in Golden Ridge Reserve Park. As it is an open-world title like theHunter, exploration via foot, boat, or vehicle are keys to traversing many of its majestic locations—all of which are home to various fish species.

If you want to take your mind off fishing, water mills and mines are scattered in the game’s world, waiting to be explored. Additionally, Call of the Wild: The Angler™ offers single-player and co-op multiplayer of up to 12 people.

Explore and catch fish

As fishing games have entered mainstream gaming, anyone looking to reimagine themselves as anglers should not miss out on Call of the Wild: The Angler™. Here, you can change their ethnicity and hairstyle. You can also select their body type, with Body Type A for males and Body Type B for females. When it comes to apparel, your options are limited

For example, you can only choose between Incognito - Wine Burgundy and Incognito - Dark Olive for your character’s shirt or disable wearing gloves. However, you can purchase more clothes as you progress in the game. Unfortunately, there’s no option to alter your face shape and eye color. As it mimics real-life fishing, it’s no surprise that this title involves patience, timing, and focus.

Don’t expect fish to come and nibble the bait when you cast your line. It will take time—but when the word Strike appears—reel in your line to haul your catch. Reeling in too late or early will keep your bait afloat for continuous fishing. You also have to factor in the temperaturedepth, and time of day as they influence the kind of species you will obtain.

A game that hooks players

All in all, Call of the Wild: The Angler™ is a title worth checking out. As you explore the world, you can catch different types of fish and venture into water mills and mines—adding variety to the game. Although it offers character customization, you can’t change your avatar’s eye color and face shape, in addition to the limited clothing options in the early game.
